Me: Good! And I still can't say enough how much of a relief that is. Depression sucks and stability is a wonderful thing. I have more going on in the evenings than I'm used to right now -- sports teams and classes, oh my! -- so I sometimes go a while without touching my computer. Trying not to do that too much when I've got tags, though!

Helena Bertinelli: She's never been a loud pup, but I'm still enjoying her. She's got some stuff going on right now -- she's bummed that Catscratch is closed for the time being, but her archery class has started, and that's taking more of her time than she might have expected. Which reminds me, I want to do a slated post about that, see if anyone can donate a bow or two for the class. If all else fails, I can handwave her having made one or two.

Dammit, I just realized I never tagged into the dinosaur hunt. *facepalm*

EP: This weekend. I swear. Probably working on fletching arrows or otherwise prepping for her class.

Fear plot: In either June or July, she's going to get her item: a picture of herself and her parents from when she was a kid, taken shortly before they were killed. That will amp up her guilt about not having avenged their deaths the way she'd intended, something she's been trying to avoid thinking about. Her nightmares of Mandragora will get worse. At some point, possibly in July, she'll have her first all-out hallucination of him coming at her.

Future: Still planning on Chloe Armstrong from SGU, hopefully in July.

I'm still trying to find a PB ("played by") for Artemis. I can get by pretty well with just using screencaps and other publicity stuff from Young Justice, but it'd be nice to have an actual human face, too. If only because that's what everyone else does.

After a while of poking through the "blonde" tag on Hollow Art (and I swear a lot of people don't know what "blonde" is), I came out with a few candidates.

First, here's Artemis: Artemis )

Next, the contenders: Possible faces for Artemis )

Which one works best for Artemis? Are any of them good enough? I can't make a poll on DW, sigh, because I don't have a paid account. So either give your opinion in comments or fill out the poll on my LJ. Either way, gimme! I need help.

I should go to bed and stop writing this Roy/Cheshire (Young Justice) fic. I'm afraid if I stop I won't start again, though, and I'd really love to actually write a fic that gets posted eventually. I haven't done that in a while.
joyfulfeather: (Huntress)
State of me: Depression sucks. That's pretty much the status-quo in my life right now. Ups mean I am better about tagging. Downs mean I either can't think or am positive no one wants me to tag them. -.- So that's me right now.

Helena Bertinelli: She's pretty content with life right now, actually. Thank you to everyone who tagged into her archery EP -- that was fun! She's continuing to do what she's been doing: hunting, being a bouncer at Catscratch, and teaching Belle archery and stuff. I'd love to see her take on more students, actually, or have other young women to mentor. She's a big fan of chicks being able to take care of themselves.

Old west: No specific plans for her, hoping to tag around a bit.

Item: Probably not until summer, but she'll be getting a picture of herself and her parents from when she was little.

Fear plot: I'm doing a slow build for her. She hasn't all-out seen Mandragora yet; she mostly has a feeling of unease/jumpiness and has been thinking about her parents and her "failure" more often lately. She may get a few nightmares this month.

THREADS: Belle, Hannibal, Cissie, Steph (I'd love to see them get past the small-talk phase and for Helena to find out more about the other Huntress), any young-ish women who want a kickbutt mentor, other Catscratch workers or customers, and pretty much anyone at all. She needs to know more people!

Future: Given that I now have The City to play as well, I definitely won't be apping anyone new here for a few months at least. When I do, Chloe Armstrong from SGU is the most likely candidate. Girl is loud in my head. The only reason I haven't apped her yet is that I don't want to overload myself. (Yes, two pups counts as overloading myself. Yes, I know there are people with 13 pups. I have no idea how you people do it.)

+ Mom's in town! She does proposal writing as an independent consultant, which means she winds up going all over to work with different clients. This is the first time she's come to my neck of the woods, though! She's actually working on a proposal for something related to the International Space Station. I find this very cool. Her hotel and work are literally minutes from my apartment and work. <3 How much I'll see her over the course of the next month remains to be seen -- her work schedules can be pretty crazy with these proposals, and obviously I've got my own stuff going, too. But we'll make time when we can! Yay, Mom!

- Got to work at 8:30 this morning -- at which point I remembered that we'd scheduled a team tag-up for 8 AM. SIGH. Then, by the time that's over and I've booted my computer, bought a soda, and finally check my email, there's one from my section manager asking me to meet with him at 9 AM. When I read that email, it was 9:10. *facepalm*

+ Did in fact meet with my section manager, and let him know a) things are going pretty well in my team, and b) that I'm interested in broadening my horizons beyond analysis. He was surprised and not sure how much he'd be able to help -- he doesn't have a lot of insight into non-analysis areas -- but said he'd ask around and suggested I do the same. He was surprised, too, when I said I was interested in section management, but at least now he knows that. (Before, I was hesitant to mention it to him because someone who is a section manager might find it silly that a little engineer wants that job, or so said my warped brain. My less-warped brain still wibbled a bit about it but told him anyway, so that's progress.)

+/- Had an appointment with my primary care doc, Dr M, about meds. I don't even know at this point. I'll probably post something more about that under my mental health filter.

- Dr M is closing her practice at the end of May. WOE. I didn't get a clear understanding of why --it didn't sound like "I've decided to retire" but more that life just moved in a way that means she needs to close it up. Regardless of why, I'm sad. I like her! She's been good for a lot of things, and man, finding someone new is never fun. She's got someone she's recommending and can transfer files to, but we'll see.

+ Kickball game tonight! YAY! It's my first chance to play with the team -- I missed our one practice because I was in Yuma and missed the first game because I was sick. Since then, we've had spring break and a bye week. I'm eager to get playing! *bounce*

+ Speaking of eager to get playing: My City app for Artemis was approved! Less than a day after I submitted it! *gleeeee* I definitely squeed and clapped and bounced in my car when I read the email. I'm amazed to get an answer back that fast! <3 Yaaaaay new game and new character to play with! I suspect my post-kickball time tonight will be spent playing on the wiki and stuff. Yay!

Can anyone beta a City (new RP) app for me? It's for Artemis Crock of Young Justice. The app format and requirements are just like TR's, for what it's worth.

I'm about to go shopping and then once I'm home I want to do another pass over the app myself, but if I could send it to people this afternoon/evening/night, that'd be awesome. Pleeeaasse?

ETA: Never mind! I just sent it in. :D

Halp! I need to figure out a good "played by" for Artemis from Young Justice. That is, a real person who could convincingly be the same person as is drawn for the animated show.

Here are the facts:

- 15-16 year old female
- Long blonde hair, dark brown eyes
- Half unspecified-Asian, half blonde American
- Short-to-middling height, say 5'4"-ish
- Athletic (she's an archer with a lot of gymnastic/acrobatic and martial arts ability)

And here are pictures:

This might count as a picspam )

Any suggestions?

Anyone out there ever watch Batman: The Animated Series? I'm trying to find out what Bruce Wayne's public persona was like in that universe. Justice League only gave us the briefest glimpse, and that was of him dancing with Diana, so it barely counts.

Any info about him, specifics or general impression, would be helpful.

Okay, so. I started using DW as a way to continue reading/commenting on posts of friends who have mostly/completely switched over from LJ. And then I started using it to keep up with TR, and now have a few TR people friended.

Would anyone I have friended over here on DW be interested in seeing my regular LJ-ness cross-posted here? Either because you're one of my old LJ friends who no longer reads LJ, or because you're someone I only have friended on DW?

If someone can suggest a good username for Chloe Armstrong from SGU, I might be able to put her into Pups of the Future today! I'm just blanking on anything obvious at the moment.

Helena Wayne as Earth-2's Robin

Helena as Robin. I cannot even. *flail*

I mean. Look at her costume! And the description! She's awesome! And then she goes off and becomes Huntress and somehow winds up on the main DCU Earth (Earth 1? Earth Prime? I don't even know at this point) and daaaaamn but I love this so freaking much.

(At some point, my Helena on TR will have to find out about this. Because that will be hilarious.)

Explanation and facts about Huntress are here.

So I also did this for Chloe Armstrong (SGU), in part because I've resumed obsessively thinking about her and Rush and in part because if ever manage to get to a point where I'm easily making reqs in TR, Chloe is a very strong candidate for my next app. Because it turns out I have a lot of thoughts about her. She's kinda loud in my head, in a way that I have to work on for Huntress. (Possibly helped by the fact that there are two seasons of episodes with Chloe and there are only a handful of episodes where Huntress even appeared, and she's different enough from her comics incarnations that I can't just pull things wholesale. But I digress.)

15 random facts about Chloe Armstrong )
joyfulfeather: (Huntress)
I've been trying to get my head into a writing and RPing mode again. To that end, I've done "random facts" about a couple of characters. "Random facts" just means I thought about the characters, their past and present, what makes them tick, wrote down something that came to me and elaborated on it as much as I felt like. Rinse, repeat, until you run out of steam. I may add to these later. Note that these are entirely my view of them -- what isn't textual canon you can assume is my own personal canon for the character. (Meaning if I'm RPing them, like I am Helena, these are some assumptions I'm making.)

11 random facts about Helena Bertinelli )

This is also a test of a) posting to DW from LogJam, and b) cross-posting from DW to LJ. Fingers crossed on all counts!

DW for me?

I'm finally using my DW account! Two reasons: I want to be able to keep up with TR, which I've been failing at, and I want to stay connected with my friends who've moved over here from LJ. Yay!
